Smart Growth Awards Program to Recognize Region's Builders & Their Developments, Oct. 22


MEDIA ADVISORY, Oct. 20, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Six area builders from the 11-county Northeast Ohio region will be recognized for their smart growth residential developments at the second Smart Growth Community Excellence Awards Program, to be held at noon, Oct. 22, 2003 at Windows on the River on the West Bank of the Flats, Cleveland.


 Who:       Smart Growth Community Excellence Awards Program
            Established by the Smart Growth Education Foundation
            and the Smart Growth Coalition 

 What:      Competition to honor the residential builders, developers,
            and organizations in the 11-county NE Ohio region whose
            housing developments best exemplify the use of smart
            growth principles, including site selection, land
            conservation, efficient use of infrastructure,
            environmental sensitivity, housing choices, enhanced
            community character, transportation access, and overall
            good design.  Two honorary Precedent Setter Awards also
            will be presented to Akron Mayor Donald Plusquellic and
            Bob Schmitt of Bob Schmitt Homes Inc., North Ridgeville.
