Sequent Technologies Ranger 350i Chosen by California Law Enforcement Agency

Events to Showcase Mobile Video Deployment at the City of Riverside Police Department

CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif., Oct. 22, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Sequent Technologies ("Sequent"), a division of Global ePoint, Inc. (NASDAQ:GEPT), today announced the selection of the Ranger 350i platform, a mobile video solution for law enforcement agencies, by the City of Riverside Police Department in California. In a joint effort with EDO Technical Services Operations, a division of EDO Corporation (NYSE:EDO), the Riverside system has been initially installed in 10 patrol vehicles, and is designed to store videos from 35 patrol vehicles for up to one year for later use, if necessary.

"We are very pleased with Sequent's Ranger 350i platform and the solution deployed by EDO. The system provides high quality video images and storage, and is easily managed," said Riverside Police Department Chief of Police, Russ Leach.

Sequent's Ranger 350i platform incorporates patent-pending processes and methodologies, including its exclusive video data telemetry embedding system and revolutionary "Video Assembler" technology. The solution has significant advantages over current in-car recording equipment. For example, the system has minimal impact on the essential duties of the officers by seamlessly capturing critical events on video for later use. Another advantage involves the transfer of video from the patrol car to the storage system by automatically uploading to the storage system wirelessly upon returning to the station.

The in-car system shuts down and powers off with no human intervention, and no removable parts to store or damage. There is never any physical handling of the recorded video files by the officer, and the original files cannot be deleted from the system except by an authorized administrator within the department. Videos can be retrieved based on a number of predetermined criteria, can be easily customized to meet each department's specific needs, and after a specified period of time, recorded videos are automatically copied to DVDs for long-term storage.

Toresa Lou, Global ePoint's Chief Executive Officer further commented, "We are pleased and excited to have Sequent's wireless digital video surveillance system installed at a major law enforcement agency. Agencies throughout the United States have shown broad interest in our Ranger 350i platform and we have several events planned over the next few weeks that will provide opportunities to learn more about our revolutionary solution."

Sequent Technologies will be at the 110th Annual Conference of the International Association of the Chiefs of Police (IACP) in Philadelphia, PA on October 22-24, 2003. The Ranger 350i platform and its deployment at the Riverside Police Department will be prominently featured at booth # 2362, with experts available to answer specific questions about the solution throughout the show.

In addition, on Tuesday, November 18, 2003, from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m., the Riverside Police Department will be having an Open House that will showcase the Ranger 350i platform. This invitation-only event will provide law enforcement agencies a first hand look at this solution at work. Riverside Police Department Chief of Police, Russ Leach, as well as former Los Angeles Police Department Chief of Police, Daryl Gates, will be there to provide opening remarks and answer questions about the impact of the Ranger 350i solution on law enforcement.
