Company Also Teams with Cisco and McDATA to Showcase 10Gb/s Technology

MEDIA ADVISORY, Oct. 27, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) --

 WHAT: Emulex HBAnyware Demonstration

Emulex Corporation (NYSE:ELX), the world's leading
provider of storage networking host bus adapters (HBAs),
is exhibiting its newly-announced next generation HBA
management suite, HBAnyware(tm) 2.0 at Storage Networking
World Fall 2003 in booth #P7. HBAnyware 2.0 offers
enhanced functionality to drastically simplify storage
networking management and reduce planned downtime by
allowing host bus adapters to be independently and
uniformly configured and managed from a single point,
which contributes to lowering the total cost of
             ownership. HBAnyware 2.0 incorporates driver-based
technology to enable complete management of Emulex HBAs,
including the ability to remotely upgrade firmware,
reconfigure driver and manage persistent bindings.

             10 Gb/s Technology Demonstrations

Emulex and Cisco Systems are jointly demonstrating
10Gigabit per second (10Gb/s) Fibre Channel technology
featuring Emulex's 10Gb/s HBA technology and the Cisco
MDS 9000 SAN switches in the Cisco Systems' booth #P3.

McDATA is showcasing 10Gb/s data traffic capabilities of
its Intrepid Directors utilizing Emulex 10Gb/s HBA
technology. This demonstration, located in booth #P6,
highlights the modular, future-ready architecture of
             McDATA's directors and Emulex HBAs.

             SAN Security Demonstrations

Additionally, the Emulex LP10000 Fibre Channel host bus
adapters are featured in various partner demonstrations
             at SNW, including the following:

-- Brocade's technology demonstration extends fabric
security using DH-CHAP to ensure end-to-end SAN
                  security.
-- Cisco Systems' standards-based approach to providing
                  security and manageability of storage
                  infrastructures using Fibre Channel Security
                  Protocol (FC-SP) for server-to-switch
authentication. In addition, Emulex HBAs are used in
the Fabric Device Management Interface (FDMI)
showcase to provide centralized asset, inventory
management of HBAs from the fabric.
               -- McDATA's end-to-end storage network security
solution, based on FC-SP, encompasses the complete
                  storage infrastructure, including visualization and
                  management via the SANavigator solution.
