Atoms of God - New book of poetry addresses ideas, emotions encountered on the inward spiritual path

DURANGO, Colo., Oct. 27, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- When people determine their individual spiritual paths, they can either accept what people tell them or they can examine each piece and retain only what they feel in their hearts to be true. The choice is always theirs, writes author Alexandria Renee Omikami in her book of poetry, Atoms of God: Reclaiming Divinity (now available through 1stBooks). She takes readers through a series of poems that outline her own spiritual journey, allowing them to take what they need to encourage spiritual growth.

Omikami explores emotions, perceptions and thoughts that engulf readers as they move toward discovery of their own beliefs. She believes that all people are part of the Divine. The Divine, referred to by many names including God, Spirit, Mother or Father, and Ultimate Consciousness, is something one does not have to wait until death to experience. Omikami writes that by looking within, people can reclaim that divinity.

With writings classified into sections such as "Awakening," "Ego" and "Questioning Duality," Omikami touches on ideas that the reader can absorb and use to fuel their spiritual fire. "The poems are sand grains to help develop the reader's personal internal pearls," the author writes.

Omikami is an ordained minister in an interdenominational church and an initiate of the Sri Vidya tradition. She counsels and teaches. She is also an intuitive Reiki practitioner, working with humans and animals. Although a licensed attorney in two states, she no longer practices law but continues to compose music, sing and play piano. Her first CD, Journey: Music From The Cosmos, is now available. Her first spiritual book, Atoms of God, was written "to expose hidden doubts, pains, questioning, transformation and potential joy that awaits us when our spirits begin to awaken to their own alarm clock."
