A Tool of God - New Book Reveals Author's Gift to Make Contact with Murder Victims

GULFPORT, Miss., Oct. 27, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- In the 2000 film The Gift, Cate Blanchett plays a single mother with unusual abilities. In the film, she is contacted by a murdered girl who leads Blanchett and the police to the body and the killer. Author Sherry Blanton Bahm is a real life version of Blanchett's character. She has received images about murder victims and details her role in these cases in her new book, A Tool of God: What Does it Mean to be a Tool of God (now available through 1stBooks).

A Tool of God is a psychic journal illustrating the growing relationship between gifted Bahm and the spirits of murder victims while she rears two young sons in the modern world. She details her life, from childhood to present, as she deals with her gift. She first discovered it in 1982, and it didn't take her long to realize it was real, she says. After that, each visitation was a spiritual lesson for her. These visitations proved to families of murder victims and her family that God is real and that there is a life after death, she notes.

"It is not simple for the way society has reared all of us to accept such a gift. Along with accepting a gift from God, one also accepts an enormous amount of responsibility. This gift by no means is glamorous," Bahm states.

A Tool of God focuses on her most famous case involving a murdered circuit court judge and a politically active woman in Biloxi, Miss. The woman's spirit revealed many names to Bahm. However, the most telling of all was the dead woman's implication of her own husband's best friend and law partner, who was elected the same year she would have run for office. This man was convicted as one of the guilty conspirators in July 1997, writes Bahm.

A Tool of God offers insight about God and the afterlife, but also proof to the skeptics in an engaging supernatural true story.

Bahm has never revealed her identity before now. A Tool of God, her first book, took 12 years to write and exposes some of the ups and downs of her gift.
