Viastar Names Music Industry Veteran Courtney Proffitt Senior VP of Distribution Group


PHOENIX, Ariz., Oct. 30, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Viastar Holdings Inc. (OTCBB:VISH) has named Courtney Proffitt Senior V.P. and National Sales Director of Viastar Distribution Group. Viastar Distribution Group is a full-service retail distribution arm for all of Viastar's media related products, including CDs, DVDs, internet downloads and publications.

Proffitt, who resigned as Executive Director for the Association For Independent Music (AFIM) to join the Viastar team, will oversee all aspects of distribution, sales and marketing. "Viastar is serious about growing their distribution division and presence internationally. I am excited to be leading that team, and look forward to working with our music, film and publishing divisions to bring media-related product to our retailers," said Proffitt of her new venture.

An industry veteran, Proffitt held various positions in three of the BMG Distribution Branches (Los Angeles, Atlanta, and Dallas) and most recently was the Southwest Regional Sales Director before heading up AFIM. Throughout her tenure at BMG she was a sales director for RCA, Arista, J Records, V2, Jive, Wind-Up and Windham Hill. Ms. Proffitt has also held several prominent management positions in music retail for Sam Goody-Musicland and Wherehouse Entertainment before her move to marketing and distribution for BMG, one of the world's largest distribution conglomerates.

Proffitt will assume the title and position November 3, 2003. She is currently on the board of SoundExchange and AARC (Alliance of Artists and Recording Companies). She is a member of NARM (National Association of Record Merchandisers), NARIP (National Association for Record Industry Professionals), AzSAE (Arizona Society of Association Executives, and has served as the liaison with the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) and AFIM.
