Finding Love Again -- New romance novel tells of high school sweethearts' jeopardized reunion

O'FALLON, Mo., Oct. 30, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- In a contemporary love story that pulls at the heartstrings of anyone who has been in love, author JoAnne Y. Long's new book, Show Me Forever (now available through 1stBooks), tells of two high school sweethearts, their estrangement and their last chance to rekindle their feelings.

Eann Franklin and Jennifer Clark begin their relationship as high school sweethearts in St. Louis. Their group of five friends is inseparable, but their new-found freedom as teenagers gets the best of Eann. His drinking, drug use and indifference eventually prompts Jennifer to break off their relationship.

Jennifer vows to move on and accepts the attention of the son of her father's friend. Eann is overwhelmed with jealousy and sadness, and he runs back to Jennifer. After one spontaneous intimate encounter, Jennifer becomes pregnant, but she doesn't learn of her pregnancy until Eann has left for California to rebuild his life. When he leaves, he tells her he will be back soon, but ten years pass.

Independently, Eann and Jennifer each become successful. He is a New York attorney and she owns two lingerie stores in St. Louis. They find their way back together after a decade, but just as this new opportunity to spark their love arises, another hurdle emerges. A long-legged, brown-eyed beauty, Mandy, challenges their love -- using the oldest trick in the book.

Long is an avid reader of romance novels. She is a federal employee who has worked in the United States and in Guam. She and her husband have three children and two grandchildren.
