The Argument for Reparations - Author outlines reasons to pay back African-Americans for slavery

PHOENIX, Nov. 3, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- The Bible states that Egyptians paid the children of Israel reparations for enslaving them. Why shouldn't black Americans also receive reparations? Author Victor L. Nickson asks this question in his new book, The Nickson View II: The Answer to the Horowitz-10 (now available through 1stBooks), where he discusses why reparations to descendants of enslaved African-Americans and their families are needed.

In-depth research has produced a wealth of data about the history of slaves and reparations. From biblical times to present day, Nickson outlines the history of reparations and erases misconceptions about them. With information never seen before, Nickson's book states that reparations are a viable option, no matter how long ago slaves were freed. His arguments offer a fresh perspective on why compensation for the families of slaves would be beneficial. He also reveals an idea about how reparations can be paid to African-Americans without severe economic pain to the country and how this could even bolster the economy.

Nickson also discusses the continuing crisis of racial stereotyping and discrimination, putting the argument for reparations into the context of today's state of equality and acceptance among different races in America. The author hopes this book inspires all citizens to help conquer racial stereotyping, while showing readers his arguments for compensating families for inconceivable harm done to past generations.

Nickson is currently working toward his master's degree. He served 29 years in military and civilian service on bases from California to Germany. He holds degrees in chemistry and small business administration. The Nickson View II: The Answer to the Horowitz-10 is his first book.
