Former Qualcomm Executive Joins Bitfone's Veteran Management Team

Bitfone Appoints Chris Cassapakis As Vice President Of Business Development And Reorganizes Sales Division


LAGUNA NIGUEL, Calif., Nov. 04, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Bitfone Corporation (www.bitfone.com), a leader in over-the-air firmware update technology for mobile devices, today announced it has expanded its management team by adding Chris Cassapakis as vice president of business development, replacing Tom Campbell who is now vice president of sales for the Americas. Additionally, Bob Thomas has been promoted to vice president of worldwide sales.

Cassapakis brings to Bitfone more than 22 years of international business development, management, operations and finance experience in the telecommunications and electronics industries. Cassapakis' responsibilities include establishing strategic relationships with hardware, software and consulting services suppliers in the wireless industry, developing indirect sales channels and managing Bitfone's mPact Partner Program.

Prior to joining Bitfone, Cassapakis held numerous senior management positions with Qualcomm, most recently as vice president of European Carrier Relations and Operations for the Internet Services division. In this capacity, Cassapakis was responsible for the introduction of Qualcomm's BREW(tm) to European carriers and OEMs. Prior to his employment with Qualcomm, Cassapakis was a group controller for Loral's Telemetry and Instrumentation group where he oversaw the financial management and operations of eight divisions.

Cassapakis earned a bachelor's degree in production and operations management and a master's in business administration with an emphasis in international business and industrial marketing from San Diego State University.
