Telelogic Introduces Industry's First Change Management Solution with Electronic Signature Capabilities

SYNERGY/Change(TM) 4.3 Streamlines Change Approval and Validation; Supports FDA Requirements

MALMO, Sweden, Nov. 10, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Telelogic (Stockholm:TLOG), the leading global provider of solutions for advanced systems and software development, today announced support for electronic signatures in Telelogic SYNERGY/Change(TM) 4.3. This is the first time that a change request tracking and reporting system has had this capability.

The electronic signature feature in SYNERGY/Change 4.3 empowers teams to have greater control over the process of validating and authenticating change items throughout the development lifecycle. Instead of creating, copying, and routing large paper files through the approval chain, SYNERGY/Change users can now sign off on changes electronically within the tool for greater efficiency and timesavings. All signatures and user comments are locked into each validated, time-stamped, and unalterable record of change approvals for unprecedented accountability.

"By incorporating the electronic signature capability into SYNERGY/Change, Telelogic has once again raised the bar in helping our customers achieve greater efficiency, higher quality, and faster time-to-market," said Scott Raskin, president, Telelogic Americas and Asia/Pacific. "Our SYNERGY customers, particularly in the medical device, pharmaceutical and defense industries, will be able to respond more quickly and confidently to audits imposed by government or industry regulations with a single, authenticated electronic data source."

SYNERGY/Change 4.3 with the electronic signature capability supports 21 CFR, Part 11, the Federal Food and Drug Administration's Electronic Records and Signature regulation that imposes strict quality control and security requirements for the validation and archiving of electronic records.

"Meeting the requirements of regulation 21 CFR Part 11 is extremely challenging, especially when large project teams are involved," said Jim Duggan, vice president at Gartner. "Many of our clients are looking for ways to include electronic signature to boost traceability and accountability, as well as help comply with these stringent regulations."

"Development organizations can benefit from having electronic signature capability integrated into their key processes," said Melinda-Carol Ballou, senior research analyst at META Group. "Verifying approvals electronically throughout the product development process helps ensure traceability and accountability of design and component changes."

Telelogic has also just released the first unicode version of SYNERGY/Change, making it easier for this task-based change management platform to be widely adopted by systems and software development organizations in China, Japan, Korea and Taiwan.

Availability The electronic signature feature in SYNERGY/Change 4.3 is available to Telelogic SYNERGY customers by downloading the SYNERGY/Change 4.3 Service Pack 1 from the Telelogic Web site, www.telelogic.com.
