Fiton Technologies Corp. Receives Remediation Contract From Economical Insurance Group

TORONTO, Ontario, Nov. 12, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Fiton Technologies Corp. (Pink Sheets:FITNF) is pleased to announce it has been contracted by The Economical Insurance Group, of Bedford, Nova Scotia, to remediate a property in northern Nova Scotia.

The property was contaminated by a home heating oil spill. The spill occurred as a result of persons unknown attempting to steal oil from the 910 litre, above ground oil storage tank. Levels of petroleum hydrocarbons, exceeding allowable limits, were detected beneath the basement floor and extend through the soil to the western boundary of the property. As well, elevated levels of hydrocarbons were detected in the groundwater of adjacent properties.

The engineering firm that conducted the subsurface investigation recommended that the property be underpinned or demolished to allow for the excavation and transport of the hydrocarbon-impacted soil to a licensed waste disposal site.

However, The Economical Insurance Group has opted to use the Fiton Process, which will eliminate the need to remove the soil or in any way disturb the existing property. Rather, the process will turn the property into a bioreactor by circulating the Fiton biocatalysis products through the sub-surface to degrade and thus cleanse the site of petroleum hydrocarbon contamination.

It is anticipated that the cleanup, which will begin on or about November 15th, will be completed by no later than December 15th 2003.

Dr. Godknows Itamunoala, Chairman and CEO of Fiton states that, "Our technology is attracting a lot of attention in matters of remediation ranging from individual dwellings to large industrial operations. This is one more step towards having the Fiton process fully entrenched as the standard for remediation of contaminated sites."
