RESTON and HERNDON, Va., Nov. 17, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) has again been selected by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to provide advanced information technology and public health informatics solutions and services to support the CDC's public health mission and research activities.
Under the new indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract, valued at up to $501 million over seven years, Northrop Grumman will continue to serve the Atlanta-based CDC including the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry and potentially serve other agencies of the Department of Health and Human Services. The company will perform in a variety of technology areas to support enterprise-wide IT initiatives and the advancement and integration of mission critical application systems that collect, process and disseminate information to improve the health of the nation.
Northrop Grumman will manage the contract from its facilities in Atlanta, which have been recently upgraded to support CDC's expanding role in bioterrorism preparedness and response, and global health issues.
Northrop Grumman, one of the nation's largest and most experienced providers of public health informatics solutions and services, has served the CDC and its public health partners for eight years, nationally and internationally.

This contract was one of two information technology awards announced by CDC. The company will compete for future task orders.
Northrop Grumman's small business subcontractors include Business Computer Applications, Inc., Duluth, Ga.; The Ginn Group, Inc., Atlanta, Ga.; The Kevric Company, Inc., Silver Spring, Md.; Emergint Technologies, Inc., Louisville, Ky. and Nova Research Co., Bethesda, Md.
Most Northrop Grumman employees and subcontractors who support the CDC contract work from various CDC sites in Atlanta or the Northrop Grumman office located near the CDC in northeast Atlanta. Northrop Grumman also provides on-site support in Washington, D.C.; Fort Collins, Colo.; Hyattsville, Md.; India and Africa.
