Calypso Wireless and Nocable Sign a Field Trial Agreement

MIAMI LAKES, Fla., Nov. 19, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Calypso Wireless Inc. (Pink Sheets:CLYW) announced today it has signed a field trial installation agreement with Nocable SpA. an Italian-based regional telecommunications company. Calypso Wireless will conduct the field trial on Nocable's Wi-Fi network, WIND Telecomunicazioni SpA. and Telecom Italia Group (NYSE:TI) GSM/GPRS mobile networks, which are the leading mobile operators in Italy.

According to the agreement between the two companies, Nocable will conduct a field trial of Calypso Wireless' revolutionary ASNAP(tm) technology that can seamlessly switch back and forth between GSM/GPRS networks and Wi-Fi wireless local area networks (WLAN) utilizing the 802.11 standard. This enables wireless customers to connect to the Internet at broadband speeds of up to 11,000 Kbps (11Mbps), enabling movie-quality, real-time video conferencing via Calypso's cellular phones, or any cell phones powered with Calypso's technology.

Customers using Calypso's ASNAP(tm) cellular phones on Nocable's Wi-Fi zones installed at McDonalds restaurants in Italy (NYSE:MCD) will be able to access the internet at broadband speeds of 11,000 Kbps per second (11Mbps) enabling movie-quality real-time video conferencing.

Earlier this month Calypso Wireless announced it had successfully completed a live demonstration of its proprietary ASNAP(tm) technology to C.G.E Distributors Corp. The demonstration was performed on T-Mobile's GSM/GPRS network in Miami. T-Mobile International is the mobile communications subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom (NYSE:DT), and one of the fastest growing nationwide wireless service providers in the United States.

"The field trial will be conducted on Nocable's and the local mobile operator's network. We expect this field trial to start within the next 60 days and conclude within 30 days after it starts. Upon successful completion, we will then enter into negotiations to deliver our cell phones and license our ASNAP(tm) technology to Nocable," says Mark Sujo, Vice President of Sales of Calypso Wireless, Inc.

To fully understand how revolutionary Calypso Wireless' technology is, simply compare the company's 11,000 Kbps speed to the data transfer capabilities of existing wireless cellular networks in the U.S. Most cellular carriers are currently only able to reach a speed of only 9.6 to 40 Kbps, and even the future 3G networks are expected to reach about 385 Kbps. Calypso Wireless believes it is 'light-years' ahead of its competition and any service provider offering its customers Calypso powered cell phones should have a marked advantage over its competitors.

Calypso's ASNAP(tm) technology offers several benefits over all of the other systems currently in use, and over what is currently being touted in the industry as the next big thing. Calypso's cellular phones will also use WLAN technology to deliver VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) and real time video conferencing, voice and data whenever they are in range of a Wireless Access Point. This will result in both increased capacity and revenue streams for mobile carriers (cellular operators).
