For his involvement in the Hungarian Revolution, Kasza became a marked man. He escaped Hungary through Austria and later found his way to America. He asked for political asylum, and it was granted. In his new free surroundings, he was able to perform ground-breaking cancer research and discovered 12 previously unknown viruses, some of which cause tumors.
Kasza's novel is not just a scientist's pursuit of curing disease and unearthing viruses. He also details his romantic liaisons. With love and joy comes pain, and he recounts how he lost his two greatest loves.
