Any Color You Like - New Book Helps People Find the Right Colors to Express Themselves

HUTCHINSON, Kan., Nov. 21, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Trucker hats and colorful Goodwill t-shirts seem to be making a comeback. However, not everyone can pull off the look, and certain colors just don't look right. Lou Peel has all the advice for wearing the right colors and styles for one's personality in her new book, Secrets of Counting Colors: A Simple Plan to Your Dress Code (now available through 1stBooks).

"You have probably read many times before that certain colors are "right" for you. Based on skin tone, eye color and hair color, the experts have told you that they can determine which colors you should wear, which will be most flattering to you. They put you into a group...then give you a list of do's and don'ts. This is not my method," Peel says.

Secrets of Counting Colors is her sure fire way of figuring out the right colors to fit not only a person's tone, but the color of their personality, as well. Peel acknowledges that the colors people wear reflect who they are and how others react to them. Her book helps readers become aware of their reactions to different colors. By understanding reactions, this can lead a person to discover their "color personality." She also teaches how different colors affect people. This becomes a useful tool for making an impression and learning how to present oneself. Physical coloring does interact with the colors of clothes, and Peel shows readers how to dress consistently with "color personality and personal coloring."

Secrets of Counting Colors keeps readers from gazing into a packed closet of clothes and responding with, "There is nothing to wear."

"The average American woman has approximately $3,000 invested in her wardrobe and nothing to wear. I hope that this book will empower you to create your own unique, total style that will reflect the inner beauty that is you," Peel states.

Peel is a graduate of the Chicago School of Interior Design. A member of a number of organizations, including National Speakers Association, the American Biographical Institute Inc., and Toastmasters International, Peel resides in Kansas. Secrets of Counting Colors is her first book.
