The Powerful Force of Emotions - New novel tells of love that brews between grieving man and woman

WHITEHOUSE, Ohio, Nov. 21, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- When Hope Logan and Tim Richards meet for the first time, they are both dealing with the loss of loved ones. When they meet again more than a year later, they discover a strange attraction to each other. In author Sherry Burkett's new novel, Having Hope (now available through 1stBooks), grief, attraction, love, loyalty and trust mix to create a powerful story of uncontrollable emotions and difficult decisions.

Tim, a college professor, loses his wife. Hope, and her husband, Charles, lose their young daughter, Amy. When Tim and Hope meet a year later in a local library, they both feel a spark between them. However, Hope and Charles are working through the problems in their rocky marriage, and Tim doesn't want to destroy their marriage. When Charles meets Tim, he immediately notices Hope's feelings. Although surprised at his wife's attraction to someone else, he knows how easy it is to get wrapped up in an affair. He's done it himself.

Tim's feelings for Hope grow, but he commits himself to restraining his emotions. As Tim fights back his love, Hope concentrates on helping Charles fight false accusations at work. When Hope's hobby of writing leads her into a program to improve her skills, she is thrilled to find that the program's director is enthralled by her work. Tim, the director, discovers it is Hope's writings he looks forward to reading, and he unleashes his feelings for her. His lack of restraint nearly destroys them both.

A captivating story of the emotions within the human heart, Burkett's book illustrates the power of love and the pain of loss.
