Microtel International Subsidiary, XET corporation, Receives Department of Defense Prioritized Orders for a Half Million Dollars in Military Digital Switches

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif., Dec. 2, 2003- MicroTel International Inc. (OTCBB:MCTL), an international manufacturer of defense and aerospace electronic components and subsystems and communication equipment today announced that its electronic components subsidiary, XET Corporation, has secured two orders totaling $509,000 as part of an accelerated Department of Defense (DOD) procurement.

The orders carry a Defense Order-A1 (DO-A1) priority rating and are placed by a major domestic defense prime-contractor that has requested deliveries in Q4-2003.

William J. Miller, Executive Vice President and General Manager of XET Corporation, stated, "We are pleased to receive these orders although delivery in Q4 with such short notice presents a major delivery challenge for XET. Our Q4-2003 production schedules are already set to meet our forecasted commitments for the balance of the year. We are currently evaluating our shop floor schedules, inventories, vendor capabilities and manpower to determine how we may adjust our current year-end workload to comply with the accelerated delivery request for these two new DO-A1 orders. The timing of these orders and their DOD priority is expected to increase XET's year-end 2003 backlog."

Carmine T. Oliva, Chairman, President and CEO of MicroTel, stated, "These accelerated orders this will allow XET to start FY 2004 with a very strong backlog of orders. The timing and DOD priority of these orders is further confirmation of the on-going strength of the defense electronic components markets and the vital nature of our products to the many defense programs that we presently serve."
