Continued Strong Demand for Security Solutions in the Banking Sector

STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Dec. 02, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- The IT security company Protect Data has received a new order from EDB for information security solutions that will form part of the solutions the company offers its customers in the banking sector. The order is worth approximately NOK 2.5 million. Delivery and invoicing will take place before the end of this year. "This contract is a sign that Scandinavian banks are still drawing considerable benefit from these security solutions," says Thomas Bill, CEO of Protect Data.

Protect Data has long focused on the banking sector, and is experiencing steadily increasing demand for information security solutions in this segment throughout Scandinavia.

Protect Data and EDB started collaborating in 1997. Since then, Internet usage among EDB's customers in the banking sector has increased steadily, and the company has noted greatly increased demand. The most recent agreement with Protect Data has been entered into to handle the increased number of Internet bank users.

-- Protect Data has played a major role in the development of several Norwegian Internet banks. The collaboration with EDB Teamco is further positive confirmation of our range of products and solutions in the field of information security, says Thomas Bill.
