Media Advisory -- 2003 CDMA Americas Congress Kicks Off Next Week




 WHAT:  The eighth annual CDMA Americas Congress commences Monday, 
        Dec. 8, and will feature more than 100 speakers from global 
        wireless technology companies discussing business and 
        technology strategies. 

        Topics ranging from industry forecasts and investment trends 
        to emerging 3G wireless services and technologies will be 
        explored at this year's Americas Congress. The program will 
        also include case studies of revenue-generating applications, 
        CDMA2000(r) 1xEV-DO implementation, 1xEV-DV development, and 
        integration of Wi-Fi with CDMA networks. Leading industry 
        analysts will participate in a discussion about the current 
        wireless economic climate and the evolution of the 3G market. 
        Workshops will address topics including small and rural 
        carriers' needs, deploying location-based services, and 
        designing a 1xEV-DO network. A CIO Forum will focus on 
        enterprise wireless solutions.  

 WHO:   Keynotes and featured presenters are senior executives from 
        BellSouth Latin America, Lucent Technologies, Nokia, Nortel 
        Networks, Qualcomm, Texas Instruments, Verizon Wireless, and 
        the Walt Disney Internet Group. Additional companies  
        presenting are Bell Mobility, Ericsson, Futurewei, KDDI, KTF, 
        Midwest Wireless, Monet Mobile Networks, SK Telecom, Sprint,
        Telcel, Telefonica del Peru, U.S. Cellular, Vesper, and Virgin
        Mobile. Industry analysts from Gartner, IGillott Research, 
        Outlook for Mobility and the Yankee Group will facilitate 
        roundtable discussions. In addition, content and applications
        companies such as AOL, Mobliss, Moviso, Vindigo Studios, 
        Warner Music Group, and Yahoo! Mobile will provide key 
        presentations.
