Emulex HBAs Achieve Certification for Use With Red Hat Enterprise Linux Platforms

Emulex HBA Open Source Drivers Available, via Redhat.com, to Enterprise Customers Running Mission-Critical Applications in Red Hat Enterprise Linux Operating Environments


COSTA MESA, Calif., Jan. 05, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Emulex Corporation (NYSE:ELX) announced today that its award-winning LightPulse(tm) family of HBAs has been certified for use with Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Additionally, the Linux Open Source driver for the LightPulse family of HBAs is now supported by Red Hat for its Enterprise Linux AS and ES distributions.

Under the agreement, Red Hat will provide seamless support to its customers when using the qualified Emulex Open Source drivers (available at http://www.redhat.com/software/drivers/emulex/) through a joint process with Emulex. Red Hat has also certified and listed multiple Emulex HBA generations on its Hardware Compatibility List, including the LP8000, LP9002, LP952, LP9802, LP982 and newly-released LP10000 and LP1050 families, for use with both 32-bit and 64-bit Intel Architecture (IA) platforms in single system and cluster environments.
