COSTA MESA, Calif., Jan. 06, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- The CDMA Development Group (CDG) (www.cdg.org) today congratulated SK Telecom on the company's recent expansion of its Automatic Roaming Service to include networks in Taiwan, Mexico and Peru. SK Telecom signed roaming agreements with Asia Pacific Broadband Wireless (APBW) of Taiwan, IUSACELL of Mexico and Telefonica Moviles of Peru to facilitate subscribers roaming seamlessly across the globe using their existing wireless handset.
The three new roaming partners join nine other carriers currently providing SK Telecom subscribers with seamless global roaming coverage in Canada, China, Guam, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand, Saipan Island, Thailand, and the U.S.
"CDMA international roaming capabilities continue to rapidly expand," said Perry LaForge, executive director of the CDG. "We applaud SK Telecom on their efforts to work seamlessly with other global CDMA service providers to enable a steady communications stream both at home and abroad."

SK Telecom has also expanded its Written Message Automatic Roaming Service offering to Taiwan and Mexico. The service area now offers uninterrupted roaming to nine regions that include China, Guam, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand, Saipan Island, and Thailand. At the same time, SK Telecom's Calling Number Identification Service is provided in nine regions that include China, Guam, Hong Kong, Mexico, New Zealand, Saipan Island, Taiwan, Thailand, and the U.S.
