Mobile Reach continues to help bring Duke Medical Center into the 21st Century

CARY, N.C. , Jan. 6, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Mobile Reach International, Inc. (OTCBB:MBRI), a product and services company focused around mobility, today announced the Duke University Medical Center, based in Durham, NC, has successfully upgraded its installation of Mobile Reach's HealthReach system.

This upgrade is the most recent example of improvements gained during the three-year-long relationship in which Duke's caregivers worked closely with Mobile Reach to build and refine mobile technology solutions to improve patient care and gain operational efficiencies. For the 14th year in a row, Duke University Medical Center has been ranked by U.S. News & World Report as one of the nation's very best hospitals. Duke is the only medical center to receive this recognition in the Southeast. In the magazine's 2003 rankings, Duke placed 6th among more than 6,000 U.S. hospitals.

Mobile Reach and Duke Medical Center have partnered on several projects including the Duke mBrowser for lab results and Pre-Op data collection form automation for Coronary Bypass Surgery.

"Both of these projects are mobile enabled solutions that leverage and extend our existing infrastructure, helping us to realize the potential of mobility. It is through these solutions that we are realizing improvements in efficiency and accuracy." said James E. Tcheng, M.D, Associate Professor of Medicine - Duke University Medical Center.

"The real opportunity for Mobile Reach is to offer powerful technologies and guidance to extending legacy applications and databases into the hands of those that need it the most. We feel we are uniquely positioned by our product architecture and trusted advisor approach. We focus on end user workflows and extension of legacy systems rather than introducing new applications that may have more risk," said Major Lackey, Vice President of Sales for Mobile Reach.
