Obedience to God -- New book outlines meaning of obedience to God's will

ORLANDO, Fla., Jan. 16, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Myrtice Robinson, a self-proclaimed "Holy Ghost filled" servant of God, describes the differences between obedience and disobedience to God. She also details the consequences for each according to the will of God in her new book, The Power of Obedience (now available through 1stBooks).

She points to a Bible passage that describes God's view of obedience. In Exodus 34:5-7, it states:

"Then the Lord came down in the cloud and stood there with him (Moses) and proclaimed his name, the Lord. And he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, 'The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin. Yet, He does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children and their children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation.'"

Robinson writes about obedience in faith, Christianity, parenthood and marriage. With her book, she highlights how the realization of God's "divine promises" hinge on one's obedience to God's will and applies the concept of obedience to every Christian's daily life.

Robinson is a teacher in the Orange County public school system and founder of the Christian Reading Tea Society Ministry. She is a member of New Destiny Christian Center (City of Destiny) in Orlando, Fla.
