SAN DIEGO, Jan. 26, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) announced today that Dan Flood has been promoted to general manager of Continental Maritime, a subsidiary of its Newport News sector.

Flood, who previously served as vice president for Business Acquisition, will oversee operations at the facility effective Feb. 1. He will replace Dave McQueary, the current president of Continental Maritime, who is retiring after 18 years with the West Coast shipyard. Flood will report to Irwin F. Edenzon who was recently named vice president of Technology Development and Fleet Support at Northrop Grumman Newport News.
Flood began his career at Continental Maritime in 1987 as a cost estimator and has held positions of increasing responsibility in the areas of contracts, program management and quality assurance.
Flood earned a bachelor's degree and master's degree in business administration.
Located in San Diego, Continental Maritime Industries delivers service and support to aircraft carriers as well as other ships in the U.S. Navy fleet stationed on the West Coast. Continental Maritime is a certified Master Ship Repair Contractor with the U.S. Navy and has accomplished hundreds of ship repair contracts for the Navy and Military Sealift Command.
