Advanced Plant Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Launches Direct Mail Insert with Publisher's Clearinghouse For Lo-Chol (TM)

Initial Order of 2,500 Bottles Received For Order Fulfillment

NEW YORK, Jan. 27, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Advanced Plant Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (OTCBB:APPI), a company that utilizes whole plants through a proprietary (patent pending) manufacturing process to develop all natural dietary and health supplements, announced that Concept Labs, Inc. and Publisher's Clearinghouse (PCH) have begun a direct mail insert to PCH's distribution list for the marketing of Lo-Chol (TM), APPI's cholesterol lowering supplement.

The direct mail insert, to be sent to Publisher Clearinghouse merchandise buyers, is an important part of the previously announced marketing agreement between the veteran television personality and spokesman, Mr. Ed McMahon (http://www.greatertalent.com/bios/mcmahon.shtml) and APPI. The Lo-Chol (TM) PCH direct mail insert featuring the endorsement of Lo-Chol by Mr. McMahon is the beginning of a marketing campaign by APPI that will include a series of television ads and infomercials airing in the near future.

Lo-Chol (TM) is a cholesterol-lowering supplement that, in patients in human clinical studies, improved HDL/LDL ratio and reduced overall cholesterol. Lo-Chol (TM) is a unique, proprietary supplement that is produced utilizing APPI's patent pending "Whole Plant" process, which develops whole plant pharmaceuticals and nutritionals (http://www.uspto.gov -- Patent # 5,707,631).

David Lieberman, CEO of Advanced Plant Pharmaceuticals, said, "This initiation of the Ed McMahon media campaign is geared to introducing Lo-Chol to a broad population receiving the well-known Publisher's Clearinghouse solicitation. As the infomercials begin airing soon, we anticipate that the awareness and familiarity with Lo-Chol fostered by this campaign will assist in building sales."
