Northrop Grumman Expands Electronic Benefits Transfer Services to Maine, Iowa and Arkansas


HERNDON, Va., Jan. 29, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) has been awarded subcontracts for Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) programs in Maine, Iowa and Arkansas. Northrop Grumman's Information Technology (IT) sector will provide data processing and software maintenance support to the EBT programs for these three states as a subcontractor under individual state-specific contracts.

As subcontractor to ACS, Dallas, Texas, Northrop Grumman IT will provide data processing for ACS's newly designed EBT software in all three states.

Northrop Grumman IT brings significant expertise to these programs as the current provider of EBT processing services for Texas as well as the prime contractor of EBT services for Illinois.

Northrop Grumman IT delivers rapid account management and daily audited database management of EBT funds with systems that operate at a reliability rate in excess of 99.9 percent. With the addition of these three state programs, Northrop Grumman IT will be supporting over 1.4 million benefit recipients daily.

Northrop Grumman IT will deliver services remotely from the company's dedicated EBT processing center in Austin, Texas. The contracts will generate approximately $9.7 million in revenue for the sector over an eight-year period.
