Elanders has changed course and hoisted its sails again

KUNGSBACKA, Sweden, Jan. 30, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Elanders: This year together with the well-known sailor Matthew Humphries as skipper.

After last year's success in and around the Volvo Baltic Race the Infomedia Group Elanders plans to broaden its involvement. We are charting a new course with a professional sailing team and participation in several races in both Scandinavia and Europe. The Volvo Baltic Race, with a new port stop in Copenhagen, is the natural highlight of our program but we also plan to take part in other races such as Faeder Race in Oslo and Cowes Week in England.

"Being a part of this international sailing team is extremely positive for us since Elanders plans to strengthen its profile in Europe. In addition, our involvement this year stretches over a longer period of time, which gives us much better opportunities to build on old relationships and create new ones with both customers and employees," says Patrick Holm, President of Elanders.

By choosing Matthew Humphries as skipper and Ross Field, Ocean Sport Management as head of the sports section of the project Team Elanders obviously aims to win the entire Volvo Baltic Race. Matthew has competed in the Volvo Ocean Race four times.

"I am convinced that with my experience and the crew I'm organising, together with Elanders' powerful support, we can win the Volvo Baltic Race. The teamwork in the whole project is just as important as the teamwork onboard," says Matthew Humphries.

Elanders' first partner is already settled. Kaffeknappen worked with Matthew and his crew on a similar project in 2000 and participated in several competitions with good results. This project is a step in launching a new concept from Kaffeknappen that will meet their customers' need for an enjoyable and relationship-building coffee break at the office.
