QLogic Builds Momentum for Next-Generation Fibre Channel Solutions with 10Gb Ready Certification Program

10Gb Ready Logo Ensures Ease of Installation and Configuration, Seamless Operation and Interoperability

ALISO VIEJO, Calif., Feb. 2, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- QLogic Corp. (Nasdaq:QLGC), the company that powers storage area networks (SANs), today announced the launch of its "10Gb Ready(tm)" partner solution verification program. The program is designed to build visibility and momentum for next-generation SAN solutions leveraging 10 gigabit (10Gb) Fibre Channel technology.

The program establishes comprehensive testing criteria at the server, network and storage levels, which are critical to ensure compatibility as solutions supporting higher Fibre Channel speeds are introduced into the market.

Certified solutions are awarded a 10Gb Ready logo for use on product packaging and marketing material. This provides end users with visibility as to the host bus adapters, inter-switch links and storage devices qualified for use in 10Gb deployments. Advantages of choosing solutions bearing the 10Gb Ready logo include easy installation and configuration, seamless operation and interoperability.

"QLogic supports all the leading storage vendors and has taken a leadership position in defining next-generation SAN technology," said Frank Berry, vice president of marketing, QLogic Corp.

"The advent of the 10Gb Ready program and our leadership role in this area represents our commitment to reliability, interoperability and above all, customer satisfaction."

Vendors participating in the 10Gb Ready program receive invitations to QLogic briefings, events, and marketing campaigns, and have the opportunity to showcase their 10Gb Ready solutions in QLogic's partner pavilions at leading industry conferences, on QLogic's website, and in marketing collateral.

All QLogic SANtrack partners are eligible to participate in the program. To date participants include: ADIC, Apple, Atempo, BakBone, CA, DataCore Software, Dot Hill, FalconStor Software, Fujitsu Softek, HP, IBM Tivoli Software, IBM TotalStorage Proven Program, Infortrend, LSI, NeoScale, nStor, Overland Storage, Spectra Logic, Qualstar, Quantum, RaidTec, StorageTek, StoreAge, Syncsort and VERITAS Software. All of these partners' solutions leverage 10Gb inter-switch linking technology, featured in the QLogic SANbox 5200 10Gb Fibre Channel stackable switch introduced this past October.

10Gb Fibre Channel solutions will deliver up to six times the bandwidth of current 2Gb Fibre Channel products. In addition to promoting industry adoption of 10Gb Fibre Channel, QLogic has been active in promoting 4Gb Fibre Channel and plans to launch a 4Gb Ready program as 4Gb solutions are brought to market.
