PASCAGOULA, Miss., Feb. 3, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) today announced the promotion of Samuel Alsgood Jr., to vice president of Finance, and controller, for its Ship Systems sector. He reports to Bob Spiker, vice president of Business Management for Ship Systems.

Alsgood brings a broad base of finance experience to his new role. He has held positions of increasing responsibility in program accounting, financial planning and control, cost accounting, internal audit and government compliance. Most recently, Alsgood was director of Business Management for the sector's destroyer program.
"Sam brings twenty years of financial management experience in the defense industry and a track record which has contributed to excellent results in the destroyer program," said Dr. Philip A. "His demonstrated leadership potential and his results-driven management style make him the ideal candidate for the sector vice president of finance and controller position."
Alsgood earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Southeastern Louisiana University and a master's degree in business administration from the University of La Verne in La Verne, Calif.
