Northrop Grumman Names New Communications Director

Wendell D. Bugg brings experience in consumer, government affairs


EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Feb. 10, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation's (NYSE:NOC) Integrated Systems sector has named Wendell D. Bugg director of communications. He reports to Scott Seymour, president, Northrop Grumman Integrated Systems.

Bugg, who previously managed the corporate affairs and communications department for American Honda Motor Co., joined the company in December 2003. In his new position, he is responsible for providing strategic and tactical communication programs that support Integrated Systems' marketing and growth strategies.

During his tenure with Honda, Bugg served most recently as the company's spokesperson for corporate reputation management, national media relations, and philanthropic and diversity communications. He was also responsible for strategic and operational business planning, executive speech writing and coordination of Honda's executive task force on diversity. Bugg joined Honda of America Manufacturing in Ohio in 1993 in government and community relations. He moved to American Honda Motor Co. in Southern California in March 2001.

Before joining Honda, Bugg served as a legislative assistant to former Congressional Representatives Louis Stokes and Joseph P. Kennedy II in Washington, D.C. Prior to his legislative experience, Bugg was an infantry officer in the U.S. Army assigned to the 101st Airborne Division. Bugg is currently an officer in the Army Reserve specializing in civil affairs, psychological operations and information operations. He is assigned to the U.S. Special Operations Command.

Bugg earned a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism from Howard University in Washington, D.C., and a master's degree in public administration from American University, also in Washington, D.C. He is a member of the board for several non-profit and community service organizations.
