TORRANCE, Calif., Feb. 10, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- In response to crowded classrooms and cramped desktops, Virco's new Sigma(tm) Series lets students maximize their personal work space while offering easier furniture access.

Six standard Sigma desks feature a spacious 20" x 26" work surface that's large enough to accommodate a laptop computer, or a full-sized binder and textbook. What's more, Sigma's contemporary open-sided design eases classroom strains by enabling students to more readily get into and out of their seats.
A generous footprint that works with multiple chair sizes lets Sigma desks accommodate a full range of K-12 applications, as does Virco's selection of 25", 27" and 30" top heights. And when it comes to safety, the Sigma product line meets rigorous ANSI/BIFMA stability testing standards for tables and desks.
In addition to six standard desks with a lead time of four weeks or less, Virco carries 21 additional Sigma configurations in an expanded range of top shapes, sizes and construction materials with a four-to-six-week lead time. Work surfaces for all desks come with Grey Nebula, Medium Oak or Walnut high-pressure laminate finishes. Popular Martest 21(r) hard plastic desk tops are also available in Sandstone or Fusion Maple.
