Attractive units provide mix-and-match tracks with optional "Secure Burn" technology

RICHARDSON, Texas, Feb. 10, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Immediatek, Inc. (OTCBB:ITEK), inventor of groundbreaking NetBurn(TM) technology for the digital distribution of Internet content, has announced the immediate availability of its NetBurn Station music-burning kiosks.

The units feature a touch screen interface, mix-and-match track or full CD selection, and a plasma screen display for targeted multimedia advertising. The automated kiosk delivers a burned CD, complete with printed label, in a matter of minutes.

The broadband-enabled kiosk is tied into a central system that has the ability to update the kiosk's local catalog on-the-fly and/or at specific times. Music stored on the kiosk is done so in Immediatek's proprietary military-grade encryption until the time it is burned to disc. The disc can optionally be burned with NetBurn Secure(TM), which provides Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) Windows Media 9 DRM files for portable devices, but also invokes copy control technology for the regular audio on the CD. NetBurn Secure is the only product that protects digital content delivered over the Internet, and which protects the copyrights of the artists and labels.

"We are very excited that the NetBurn Station has become reality," says Zach Bair, CEO of Immediatek. "Through our NetBurn technology, and together with an aggressive program we will be announcing soon, we are creating a new paradigm in the music industry, and new ways to power musicians - major and indie artists alike."

Immediatek says that major label content for the kiosks can be obtained directly from the labels, or Immediatek will work with the client in a variety of ways to help provide that content. Additionally, content from independent artists utilizing the NetBurn technology will be included in all kiosks deployed, offering them what Bair calls "quasi-brick-and-mortar" distribution alongside major artists.

The NetBurn Station kiosks are available only through Immediatek, and interested parties should contact the company directly.
