ATLANTA, Feb. 11, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- EMS Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq:ELMG) has announced today that Alfred G. Hansen, president and CEO, has been elected to the National Board of Directors of AeA, the nation's largest high-tech trade association. Formerly referred to as the American Electronics Association, AeA has more than 3,000 member companies and is dedicated to advancing the business of technology through advocacy, education and services.

Hansen's appointment was made official during the AeA board meeting held Feb. 4-6, 2004, in San Diego, Calif., when the leadership of AEA discussed the organization's new strategic objectives and set the organization's public policy priorities.

In his new position with AeA, Hansen will support the association's mission to promote American leadership in high-technology manufacturing and services and serve as "the voice of the U.S. high-tech community."

Commenting on Hansen's appointment, Bill Archey, AeA's CEO, stated, "Al Hansen is a great addition to our Board. He represents a number of areas, specifically wireless, defense and broadband, all of which are very dynamic and will pose some complicated challenges, especially in public policy. The fact that Al has a real understanding of public policy and the process of same, he will make a real contribution, not just for EMS, but for high-tech in general."
