Dance with an Angel -- New book tells true story of social worker and AIDS stricken boy fighting physical abuse

LISLE, Ill., February 16, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Sometimes strength, love and wisdom are seen in unlikely places. For Robyn Accetturo, L.C.S.W., she saw them in an 8 year old boy, Jeremy Miller, who was battling AIDS and physical abuse from his mother. In her new book, Dance with an Angel: The True Story of an Eight-year-old Hero (now available through 1stBooks), she tells their true story of friendship and love.

Accetturo was Jeremy's social worker. He came into her life when he was 6 years old, while he was dealing with his mother, who during one of her uncontrollable rages had the capability of killing her own son. As Accetturo's friendship with this amazing child grew, so did her frustration. The system she worked for, one that was supposed to help children such as these break free from their constant fear, was failing both her and Jeremy. She finally turned to spirituality to help her protect this child. When she surrendered his fate to the universe and they placed their trust in it, positive events began to occur in rapid succession.

In this touching chronicle of their relationship, readers will experience the lessons of unconditional love, courage and faith and learn of these two brave people who had their strength tested. Through Jeremy's story, readers will see the true manifestation of the compassion, wisdom and love that can heal.

Accetturo is a professional freelance writer and licensed clinical social worker. She graduated with distinction from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a bachelor's degree in psychology. She also earned her master's degree in social work, specializing in mental health, from the same school. An active volunteer, Accetturo lives in a suburb of Chicago with her husband and two children.
