Bitfone Earns 2004 Cutting Edge Promise Award at 3GSM World Congress

CANNES, France, Feb. 25, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Bitfone Corporation (www.bitfone.com), the company that pioneered over-the-air (OTA) updates for mobile phones, was awarded the 2004 Cutting Edge Promise award during the Cutting Edge, Venture-funded Technologies session at the 3GSM World Congress in Cannes. The award was presented to the company with the best elevator pitch from a field of more than 25 venture-funded companies in technology categories including Device & Semiconductor, Operator Infrastructure, Operator Middleware, Operational Support Systems, Applications Enablers, and Infrastructure Enablers. Bitfone's winning presentation, entitled "mProve(tm) Revolutions" for the company's leading technology that updates a mobile phone's core embedded software over the air, was inspired by "The Matrix" movie trilogy.

"Not only do we take pride in what we do, but we have fun doing it," said Gene Wang, chairman and CEO, Bitfone. "As a pioneer in the field of OTA management, we have set the industry standard for over-the-air software solutions that allow carriers and manufacturers to service mobile phones while in the customers' hands. With mProve, the wireless industry can recoup up to $8 billion each year currently spent to service mobile phones manually."

Bitfone is demonstrating mProve at the 3GSM World Congress from Feb. 23-26 in three locations: Nokia Venture Partners booth, Hall 2, Stand G-12; Gemplus booth, Hall 1, Stand B-19; and on the Rhodes Island Yacht, located on Jetee Albert Edouard/Yacht Row.
