An Ancient Legend Revealed -- New fantasy novel tells of young boy pulled into ancient struggle

SAN LEANDRO, Calif., March 17, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- In Scott T. Wilson's new fantasy novel, a 1900 year old legend is revealed before the reader's eyes. In Two Shades Darker Than the Sky (now available through 1stBooks), Chath, a young teenage boy, turns out to be a fearless warrior hero.

Chath grew up with Ariana and fell in love with her. When he declares his love for her, she tells him she doesn't feel the same. Crushed, Chath flees and stumbles into a new opportunity given to him by the goddess Chythiis. He is sent away on a magical quest to battle an ancient evil. He travels back in time to be transformed into the brave Shee hero, Cheytheyn.

Chath must fight the evil sorceress Chihled. She has been battling the legendary Shee hero Cheytheyn for centuries. Soon, it is revealed that the young Chath and Cheytheyn are one in the same. Cheytheyn and his sword, Haylerbane, who trains him and teaches him to fight, take on Chihled. Chath's friends and Ariana discover the true whereabouts of Chath 13 years later.

A riveting story that spans centuries in time and an array of intriguing characters, Two Shades Darker Than the Sky is a gripping fantasy novel set in a world like no other.

"This world is a few degrees away from our own, but not that far" Wilson writes. "Where a magician is more likely to pull a toaster out of a hat than a rabbit. Not that he'd have any idea what it was, where it came from or what to do with it."

Wilson, who was born in San Jose, Calif., has lived in San Leandro for 13 years. He has spent years writing this novel and many short stories that have been published in small press magazines. He is currently working on two sequels, Where the Worm Leads and Held in the Balance.
