Triplet Pens Trilogy -- Author offers encouragement and sound values with three new books

PORTLAND, Ore., March 19, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Amelie Diamant-Holmstrom's three volume series, The Courtship of Life, aims to put civility back into civilization. The trilogy, according to U.S. Senator Mark O. Hatfield, "inspires parenting, teaching and celebrating the uniqueness of every individual. Its pages are infused with values, the balance of privilege with duty, of choice and freedom with accountabilities, of joy and sorrow and calculated risk with experiences and insight."

The Courtship of Life Book I: Conversations with Thomas is both a new kind of children's book and a new kind of parenting book, writes noted author Bill O'Hearn. It began as a series of letters from a grandmother to her grandson and has grown into a warm and affectionate introduction to a view of life that will benefit children and the adults who read to them. The letters give much needed support to adult caregivers who want to equip their children with the basic values and problem solving skills that are the foundation of a fulfilling satisfying life.

The Courtship of Life Book II: Destined for Greatness offers what Robert Bailey, general director of the Portland Opera, calls "a thoughtful and provocative challenge ... to reshape the goals and purpose of public education." The approach, states Bailey, provides a welcome ray of hope that the joy of learning can be restored to the classroom.

The Courtship of Life Book III: Yes I Can is, according to Brigadier General Fred M. Rosenbaum, "a book addressed to all who seek to lead a quality life ... a book dedicated to putting civility back into civilization." In this book, Diamant-Holmstrom shows readers how knowledge, open communication, perseverance and skills in negotiation can open the doors to a quality life.

The author has more than 30 years of experience teaching foreign language and culture to high school and university students. She coauthored French: A Creative Approach with Stanford University Professor Robert Politzer. Diamant-Holmstrom is a resident of Portland, Ore., (and yes, she's a triplet).
