Bitfone Continues Expansion Through Partnership with WDS Global

Partnership Provides Complete Solution for Configuring User Settings and Over-The-Air Software Updates

ATLANTA, March 22, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Bitfone Corporation (www.bitfone.com), the company that pioneered firmware update technology over-the-air (OTA) for mobile phones, today announced that the company has partnered with WDS Global to integrate Bitfone's mProve(tm) 3.1 into WDS Global's Service Framework. Bitfone and WDS Global have teamed up to provide a complete solution for wireless carriers to configure user settings and update handset software over the air. Bitfone and WDS Global will jointly demonstrate the integrated solution at CTIA Wireless, March 22-24 in Atlanta in booth 3424, hall B4.

"WDS Global's partnership with Bitfone extends our Service Framework by reducing a wireless carrier's exposure to software related problems in complex devices with proactive delivery of OTA firmware updates," said David Foulkes-Jones, CEO, WDS Global. "We selected Bitfone because of their firmware update experience and leading market position and we are pleased to strengthen our affiliation with the company."

"Through Bitfone's partnership with WDS Global, two leaders in the areas of OTA provisioning and firmware updates are united to create a solution that can update a handset from the bottom up in a non-intrusive and transparent manner," said Gene Wang, chairman and CEO, Bitfone. "Bitfone's latest release, mProve 3.1, will greatly enhance the WDS Global Service Framework."

Bitfone and WDS Global's joint offering will allow wireless carriers to utilize OTA technology to efficiently manage, configure and upgrade subscribers' phones. OTA technology equips wireless carriers with significant cost savings and increased revenue potential by providing an automated approach to managing mobile devices through the provisioning and updating of a phone's core software over the air, in a secure and fault-tolerant manner.

The joint solution allows wireless carriers to ensure that after the point-of-sale, mobile phones remain in compliance with the latest device parameters and software configurations.
