EMS Wireless Unveils Band-Select Version of Link2Cell, Targeting Wireless SOHO Users

ATLANTA, March 23, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- EMS Wireless, a division of EMS Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq:ELMG), is announcing today at CTIA Wireless 2004, a new band-select version of its Link2Cell(TM) In-building Signal Enhancing System designed to boost wireless coverage inside small offices and buildings.

Now, service providers can deploy Link2Cell to amplify only the desired PCS frequency band of their choice. Link2Cell is ideal for major voice and data users in offices and in some homes, wherever coverage is borderline or poor. The single enclosure unit requires no external antennas or installation; the user simply places it near a window or convenient location with adequate signal strength and plugs it into an electrical outlet. The band-select unit features an LCD screen indicating the antennas' transmitted and receive power, so that users can adjust the placement of the unit to ensure strongest coverage.

"Last year we announced the Link2Cell and the concept was very well received. This version will allow service providers to isolate their bands to enhance the performance of their mobile units, and thereby improve the quality of their service coverage among high-value customers, which can lead to less churn," said Michael Gulledge, vice president, Sales and Marketing for EMS Wireless.

A single Link2Cell unit is ideal for areas that are less than 5,000 square feet in size It can serve anywhere from five to 60 different users from one location, and several units can be cascaded together to provide additional coverage. The system provides coverage for all 1900 MHz system protocols, including CDMA, GSM/PCS and TDMA. In addition, users can easily cascade these units together to enhance coverage throughout a location -- without the need for physical installation or wiring.

EMS Wireless currently is marketing Link2Cell through wireless service providers, but anticipates making Link2Cell available to the consumer market through national distribution channels in 2005.
