SurfBoost Web Accelerator New Version 3.1 Released by Sitestar

LYNCHBURG, Va., March 26, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Sitestar Corporation today announced the latest version of its SurfBoost(TM) Web Acceleration Service, version 3.1. This new version is now available for both the Macintosh and Windows based PCs. According to Sitestar, version 3.1 goes far beyond Web acceleration to enhance the entire consumer experience. Some of the new features include: in-page ad blocking capabilities, better performance statistics, improved denial of service protection, Macromedia Flash compression and better stability.

SurfBoost is a trademark and wholly-owned entity of Sitestar Corporation (OTCBB:SYTE), an Internet Service Provider (ISP) and computer services company. The SurfBoost Web Acceleration service improves dial-up Internet speeds up to 500 percent without additional hardware and is available instantly. All that is required is a software download that allows the client computer to communicate with the SurfBoost compression servers. This allows web pages to download many times faster than normal. The program also eliminates annoying pop-up ads and noticeably speeds up e-mail transfers.

"SurfBoost has been very well received since our initial July 2003 launch. We are getting over 600 requests for our free trial each month. Many people are finding that they cannot live without SurfBoost,'' states Sitestar President and CEO Frank R. Erhartic, Jr. He went on to say, "With this software release, we also introduced our first Macintosh client software. This enables even more people to experience the speed gains from SurfBoost. The new optional ad blocking capabilities further accelerate the Web surfing experience by eliminating unnecessary images on the Web pages. All these features, when purchased separately elsewhere, normally cost more but are included with the SurfBoost service at no additional charge.''

It is estimated that fewer than one half of Internet subscribers in the United States access the Internet over high-speed broadband networks. In the next five years, while broadband access is increasing, it is projected that more than 30 million people will still rely on dial-up Internet access. SurfBoost fills the gap between broadband and dial-up modem access.
