Buffalo Technology Continues to Define Wi-Fi Ease-of-Use with its New AOSS Enabled Router

The Latest Addition to the Company's Award-Winning AirStation Product Line Launches Buffalo's Initiative to Provide Secure, One-Touch Wireless Installation

AUSTIN, Texas, March 29, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Buffalo Technology, a global leader in the design, development and manufacturing of networking solutions for home, SOHO and SMBs, today announced the latest addition to its signature AirStation(tm) series. The AirStation 54Mbps Wireless Cable/DSL Router with AOSS (WBR2-G54) combines 54Mbps of wireless data rates with Buffalo's new connectivity and security technology, AOSS.

With AOSS (AirStation One-Touch Secure System(tm)), users can automatically set up a secure wireless network with the push of a button. The technology detects and configures other AOSS enabled devices and seamlessly creates a secure connection.

"Ease-of-use is the most important feature to offer the home and business market. That is why we developed AOSS and have begun implementing the technology into all of our 802.11g wireless products," stated Morikazu Sano, vice president of Buffalo's networking division. "Users can now have their wireless network up and running securely within a matter of minutes, completely stress-free. When ease-of-use is combined with affordability and performance, you get the perfect solution for just about any network environment, and that solution is the WBR2-G54."

In addition to AOSS, the WBR2-G54 offers a robust feature-set such as WDS support for bridging and repeating and external antenna support for enhanced range. The product is compatible with both DSL and cable modems and offers a built-in DHCP server for simplified network administration. The WBR2-G54 incorporates advanced security features such as Wi-Fi Protected Access (tm) (WPA), Privacy Separator and Buffalo's exclusive Intrusion Detector - a powerful firewall that identifies and blocks outside attacks. Additional security features include dynamic packet filtering, NAT support and SPI firewall. The product's wireless output power setting enables users to set the parameters of their wireless signal. In addition, the built-in 10/100 4-port Ethernet switch allows users to combine wired and wireless networks on the same LAN.

Backed by a limited two-year warranty, the AirStation 54Mbps Wireless Cable/DSL Router with AOSS (WBR2-G54) will be available beginning of April 2004 at an estimated street price of $99.
