Haldex wins a record 2.5 billion SEK AWD order from a European car manufacturer

STOCKHOLM, Sweden, April 01, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Haldex Traction System, a division in the Haldex group, has been awarded a new AWD business from a European car manufacturer. The total order value over a 5-year period is estimated to 2-2.5 billion SEK, the largest single order value ever awarded to Haldex. Deliveries are planned to start in 2007.

Haldex won the new business in hard international competition and our market leadership for controllable AWD systems in Europe has been further strengthened.

The order involves the latest developments of the Haldex AWD system, including the newly developed pre-charge system (PreX) which further enhances the AWD intervention, giving added safety, driving performance and "fun to drive".

The new record order will add significant volumes starting in 2007 and will then require some further capital expenditures as well as the addition of some 30-50 employees in the Landskrona plant.

The Haldex group (www.haldex.com), headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, is a provider of proprietary and innovative solutions to the global vehicle industry, with focus on products in vehicles that enhance safety, environment and vehicle dynamics. Haldex is listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange and has annual sales over 6 billion SEK with 4,000 employees.
