OWENS CORNING (OTCBB: OWENQ)

Owens Corning, the building materials company, closed 22.95% higher on Friday to 0.75 on recent news that The Mississippi Supreme Court affirmed the Owens Corning case dismissal.

The Mississippi Supreme Court on Thursday upheld the dismissal of a lawsuit brought by Owens Corning Inc. against cigarette makers, saying the suit showed no antitrust injuries.

Latest: Owens Corning pays $71.5 million for Vitro Venture:

Owens Corning on Friday said it bought Mexican company Vitro SA de CV's (Mexico:VITROA) (NYSE:VTO) 60 percent stake in the Vitro Fibras joint venture for $71.5 million. VITROA.MX had $64 million of sales last year.

United Airlines (OTCBB:UALAQ)

Latest: The U.S. House of Representatives on Friday approved a temporary formula for pension funds that could save U.S. companies over $80 billion in the next two years. The bill also calls for $1.6 billion in extra aid for a handful of steel companies, including United Airlines, a unit of UAL Corp.

United needs to reduce its pension liabilities to qualify for a federal loan guarantee, which is a cornerstone of its recovery plan.

Recent: On Thursday, United Airlines received approval from the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) to offer one daily nonstop roundtrip flight between Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) and Denver International Airport (DEN). The new service is expected to begin this summer.

United Airlines appears on www.StockGrid.com for the fifth time on steady high volume. UALAQ closed even Friday at 1.53.
