HARRISBURG, Pa., April 8, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Worldwide industrial services and products company Harsco Corporation (NYSE:HSC) announced today that the Danish subsidiary of its SGB access services division has purchased the entire mastclimber equipment fleet of Hunnebeck Denmark, becoming the largest mastclimber rental operator in Denmark with more than 100 units. Terms of the purchase were not disclosed.
"SGB is committed to progressively widening its access solutions offerings and we see mastclimbers as an increasingly important product in our range," said John Barrett, SGB's Group Operations Director. Mastclimbing work platforms are externally mounted, automated elevation systems that provide fast and efficient access for workers and materials to their exact position of work. The units offer significant on-site productivity benefits as an alternative to scaffolding where the building and nature of work are suitable, particularly in areas where relatively high labor costs and limited work schedules are prime considerations.
The additional mastclimbers are expected to increase SGB's market share to approximately 40 percent of Denmark's estimated $7.5 million annual market for mastclimber rentals, and overall will make SGB the second-largest mastclimber rental fleet operator in Europe.
The SGB division is part of Harsco's Access Services Segment, one of the world's largest and most complete providers of rental scaffolding, shoring, forming and other access solutions for major non-residential construction and industrial maintenance projects.
