(OTCBB:PLKC), a provider of satellite-based products and services, announced today that it has formed a new subsidiary, PlanetTRAKS Inc. PlanetTRAKS will focus solely on the commercialization and marketing of the Company's PlanetTRAKS branded GPS tracking technologies.
"Having recently launched the first of our GPS-tracking products in the international commercial marketplace, we wanted to create a subsidiary that focuses exclusively on exploiting the domestic and international opportunities in the tracking device market. Our subsidiary will bear the same name as our product in order to build greater brand awareness. We are very excited about our PlanetTRAKS family of products and our ability to leverage new technologies to offer our services at very competitive rates," stated PlanetLink Communications CEO Mr. Dewey Bain.
In addition to developing GPS-based tracking products, PlanetLink Communications also offers satellite-based television and Internet access. In response to its success in developing the PlanetTRAKS system, as well the present market opportunity in this niche, the Company is focusing more of its efforts and activities on developing its line of GPS-tracking products.
The Company is developing a family of GPS-enabled Mobile Locator Units (MLUs) under the PlanetTRAKS name, designed to communicate real-time location data and other information over the General Packet Radio System (GPRS) to a secure Internet server. Customers may access information via a password-protected web sit, or any other Internet-enabled device, in order to track vehicles and other assets.
