The pmcw Report Comments on Intel's First-Quarter Results

BOSTON, April 15, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- The pmcw Report recently commented on Intel's (Nasdaq:INTC) first-quarter results and provided an updated price target for shares of the semiconductor maker.

The pmcw Report ( http://www.pmcwreport.net/ ) is a subscription financial newsletter focused on technology and semiconductor companies. It is published by Paul McWilliams, a 20+ year industry veteran and ranked by SmartMoney as one of the thirty most influential people in investing.

Started in September 2002, the pmcw Report's model equity portfolio has returned a staggering 356% well outdistancing the Nasdaq's 55% gain over the same period. Since the first of the year, the report's equity positions have gained over 28%, versus a 2% advance for the Nasdaq.

While Intel's quarterly results didn't meet his expectations, McWilliams reminded his members that "what matters today is what will happen tomorrow, not yesterday." The majority of his latest report focused on what he expects from Intel for the remainder of 2004. Keying on multiple potential growth drivers, McWilliams reiterated his above-consensus sales growth estimate.

McWilliams also provided a detailed perspective on the so-called "inventory issues" and accounts receivable figures.

He concluded his report with an updated price target.

Going against the grain is a position that is familiar to McWilliams. During the fall of 2002, he was one of the first to call the semiconductor turnaround. McWilliams also added Intel as an investment idea in December 2002 when many pundits were short the tech bellwether. He suggested those who chose to hold Intel consider selling when it ran to the mid-$30's in November. Those who did saw a maximum profit greater than 100%!
