Telelogic Announces Availability of Enhanced SYNERGY/CM Integration with Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003

Improves Project Collaboration for Distributed Teams and Simplifies Parallel Development by Unlocking Advantages of Task-Based Configuration Management

IRVINE, Calif., April 26, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Telelogic (Stockholm Exchange: TLOG), a global provider of solutions for advanced systems and software development, today announced the availability of version 2.0 of its integration between Telelogic SYNERGY/CM 6.3 and Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003. The integration has been tested in customer environments during a comprehensive beta testing program and is available for customers today.

With SYNERGY/CM, developers have their own to-do list of tasks, which can be prioritized. When the developer is ready to work they simply select a task. SYNERGY will automatically manage all the dependencies among the many files that need to be created or updated to complete the task. When the developer is finished, the task is marked as completed and SYNERGY will automatically check in all the files that were changed to complete that task. This task-based methodology is considerably easier and more efficient for developers than file or object-based systems.

This gives Visual Studio .NET 2003 developers all the power of an enterprise-class configuration management solution at their fingertips -- accessible directly without the need to switch tools. Common operations, such as check in and check out are available from standard menus within Visual Studio .NET, and advanced CM operations are automated with features such as the developer `to-do list'.

The updated integration also enhances the scalability of MicrosoftVisual Studio .NET 2003 so it can be more easily used on multipleprojects or multiple concurrent editions of the same project.

" More and more development organizations are migrating to Visual Studio.NET 2003 so it was important to keep our SYNERGY/CM integration up-to-date to meet the needs of our customers," said Ingemar Ljungdahl, chief technology officer for Telelogic. "`With SYNERGY's robustconfiguration management capabilities, developers using Visual Studio.NET will be well equipped to tackle the challenges of parallel anddistributed development."

"Microsoft is pleased to continue our relationship with Telelogic in making the SYNERGY and Visual Studio .NET integration even more beneficial to development teams," said Prashant Sridharan, senior product manager for the Developer and Platform Evangelism Division at Microsoft Corp. ``This latest integration will further streamline the configuration management process for our mutual customers."

"For large, complex and/or distributed development projects, a robust source configuration management system is critical to ensuring quality and productivity," said Melissa Webster, Research Director, IDC. "Ideally, it should be almost invisible to developers, as an integral part of their development environment."
