Absoft Announces Exclusive MaxFlex Flexible Multi-platform Software Licensing

New Way to Save Money on Multi-platform Software Development

ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich., April 28, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Absoft Corporation today formally announced its new MaxFlex(tm) Maximum Flexibility Licensing which allows customers to exchange a set quantity of Absoft software licenses across different platforms. Now available for Absoft Fortran compilers for IA32/Linux, AMD64/Linux and Macintosh OS X, the MaxFlex(tm) Software License Manager from provides users with significant cost savings and maximum licensing flexibility. MaxFlex(tm) is another example of Absoft leading the software development industry by providing cost effective solutions for mixing licenses in multiple environments.

"Based on customer demand, Absoft is pleased to introduce the new MaxFlex(tm) Licensing Manager and policy allowing customers to freely mix and match Absoft software for Macintosh and Linux at their own convenience without having to re-license from Absoft," said Wood Lotz, President of Absoft. "For customers using multiple operating systems, MaxFlex affords significant savings through multi-platform bundle pricing and dynamic access to different compiler licenses as the customer requires. Customers ordering MaxFlex(tm) network licenses select the platforms they want, the maximum number of users, and pay only once with no subsequent fees to switch," continued Lotz.

Under MaxFlex(tm) licensing, for example, a customer originally purchasing two Fortran compilers for Linux and one for Macintosh could dynamically change the mix by switching to one Linux Fortran compiler and two Macintosh Fortran compilers, or any other combination using no more than three licenses total (in this example). Similarly, customers migrating from 32-bit to 64-bit platforms might initially use one 64-bit license and two 32-bit licenses, then later use all 64-bit licenses as migration progresses.

Absoft is the only Fortran vendor offering solutions for all popular computing platforms (Windows, Macintosh, Linux), so only Absoft can offer customers simultaneous savings on multi-platform discounts and dynamic licensing policies. All Absoft compilers are source-compatible across platforms. Investments in Absoft products today can grow with changing requirements tomorrow. The MaxFlex(tm) license policy is exclusively from Absoft and is the most cost effective network license policy available from any software compiler vendor.

Other Absoft products include Pro Fortran compiler suites for Windows and Macintosh, including a complete Integrated Development Environment, Absoft's high performance Fortran95 compiler for AMD64/Linux, IBM's XL Fortran and C/C++ compilers for Macintosh OS X, the advanced Fx2 multi-language debugger, the DDT distributed debugging tool for parallel debugging, tools for automatic parallelization, automatic vectorization, OpenMP processing, and numerical libraries for mathematics and statistics.

MaxFlex(tm) pricing varies by number of platforms, number of products, and number of concurrent users. For specific quotes, contact sales@absoft.com or call 248-853-0050 and ask for MaxFlex(tm) information. Product details and ordering information are available at http://www.absoft.com.
