Photo Release -- Northrop Grumman Names Sidney E. Fuchs President of TASC Business Unit


HERNDON, Va., April 28, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) has appointed Sidney E. Fuchs president of its TASC business unit, effective May 1.

He reports to James O'Neill, corporate vice president and president of the company's Information Technology sector. Fuchs brings to his new role extensive experience in leading organizations that provide leading-edge and innovative technology solutions to the worldwide defense and intelligence communities.

"Sid is an acknowledged leader of considerable skill and expertise, with the experience to take TASC forward. He will be an important addition to our senior management team," said O'Neill. "His experience with large-scale systems engineering, integration, information operations, and tactical support in defense and intelligence will enable our TASC business to leverage its proven capabilities."

Most recently, Fuchs served as a business unit vice president and was the executive director of Intelligence Operations for TASC. In September 2002, he was nominated by the White House and received a four-year federal appointment to the Board of Visitors, National Defense University from Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld. This advisory board is chartered with providing guidance and support to the university leadership, joint chiefs-of-staff, and the secretary of defense in achieving their mission.

Prior to joining Northrop Grumman, Fuchs held senior management positions in commercial product sales and consulting with Rational Software Corporation, Oracle Corporation, and Digital Equipment Corporation. Earlier, Fuchs was an intelligence officer with the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), where he held operations, engineering, and management positions in the areas of field operations, intelligence collection and analysis, project management, and systems development and acquisition. Fuchs served at domestic and foreign posts, and received awards from the CIA, National Security Agency, National Reconnaissance Office, U.S. Air Force, and U.S. Department of Defense.

Fuchs earned bachelor's and master's of science degrees in mechanical engineering from Louisiana State University.
