Cray Selects Emulex HBAs for Use With Super Computers


COSTA MESA, Calif., May 4, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Emulex Corporation (NYSE:ELX), the market leader in Fibre Channel host bus adapters (HBAs) and a leading supplier of intelligent building blocks for next generation storage networking systems, today announced that Cray, Inc. (Nasdaq:CRAY), global supercomputer leader, has selected the Emulex 2Gb/s LP9802DC Fibre Channel PCI-X HBA for use as part of the Cray X1 System. As a result, Cray customers can now benefit from the reliability and serviceability provided by Emulex's storage connectivity solutions while using Cray systems for some of the most demanding computing applications ever performed. Emulex LP9802DC Fibre Channel HBAs are immediately available for use with Cray X1 high performance computing systems.
